Being A Businesswoman Is Funny, Lily Allen

Lily Allen finds it "funny" that she spends her days behind a desk nowadays.
Earlier this year, the pop star announced she would be turning her back on music to concentrate on various business projects for a while. As well as launching a vintage fashion boutique with her sister Sarah, Lily has also been setting up her own record label.
The 25 year old has left the glitz and glamour of her showbiz lifestyle behind, and now spends every day working hard from the London headquarters of her business enterprise.
"I have got a little office in Soho now and I go out and go and sit at my desk every day, it's quite funny," the star told the British edition of OK! magazine.
Lily admits working in an office isn't as fun as touring the world and performing sell out concerts, but says she's enjoying the change.
"I'm setting up business plans and all pretty boring stuff, but it's quite exciting," she added.
Lily has been allowing herself the odd night out, though, as she's scouting talent for her new record label.
The star has already discovered some promising new acts, but is remaining tight lipped over their identities to avoid other labels signing them before her.
"I have been meeting with lots and lots of different people. I can't say who, because someone else will go and find them!" teased Lily.

Lily Allen’s Mom Afraid of Losing Her Over Fame

When the singer became famous Lily Allen’s mother was jealous. Alison Owen, who raised Lily and her brother Alfie alone after her marriage to actor Keith Allen broke down, insists she has always been proud of the 25 year old star’s musical success, but was concerned they wouldn’t be as close as they always had been. She told Grazia magazine, “I was extremely proud of what she had achieved, but I felt scared for her, protective of her, jealous other people had a part of her. It felt as if she wasn’t mine so much any more.”Alison was left particularly concerned when Lily got drunk and started slurring her words, as well as arguing on stage with music legend Sir Elton John, at the GQ Awards in 2008.She said, “I was worried because she had drunk too much and I don’t want her to do anything she’s going to feel bad about. “That night got blown out of proportion, though. She’s good friends with Elton, and they both thought it was funny.”

Llly Allen Cancels Spanish Festival Gig

Spain's Benicassim festival Lily Allen pulled out on Sunday after doctors advised the sick star not to fly.
The singer upset TV and radio bosses in the U.K. after she scrapped two of her final promotional pop appearances earlier this month, citing illness.
And the singer's condition hasn't got any better she was told not to fly to Spain on Sunday for one of her final gigs.
A statement on the festival's website says, "Lily Allen regrets that she has been forced to pull out of her appearance tomorrow at the Benicassim festival due to illness. Having been advised by her doctor that she would be unfit to travel in the next 7 days Lily had no option but to cancel. She sends her deepest apologies to fans."
Allen adds on her Twitter.com page, "My deepest apologies. I actually am truly sorry, I was so excited but the doc wouldn't allow it.
"I hate letting down my fans. I've done this four times over the past two years, sadly Spain has had a raw deal or a lucky escape depending on which way you're looking at it. Sorry Benicassim."
The festival slot was one of the Smile hitmaker's final shows before she takes a hiatus from music to focus on a fashion venture with her sister and to concentrate on having a family.

Writes For Bridget Jones Musical, Lily Allen

Since 'retiring' from music Lily Allen hasn't half been busy doing musical things. Despite claiming that she would no longer be doing any musical projects Allen has been writing the music for an upcoming stage production of Bridget Jones Diary.
By the way that is a actual thing, not just a series of words to get the male population of Britain to run for the hills.
Speaking to The Mirror Allen said: "Everyone thinks it's just one or two songs. But I've now had ten accepted and they look to be making the final cut for the show."I'm hugely proud of this and it's something I've worked actually bloody hard on. The money would be great but it's being recognised as a songwriter and lyricist that truly excites me."
